Exploiting the Cloud as a new storage tier for z/OS tape data

Presentation

Cloud storage is increasingly being seen as a convenient and dramatically cost-effective new storage tier for z/OS data.  This is especially true for historical data on tape which is infrequently accessed but nevertheless has to be retained for long periods of time or indefinitely.  This session will describe how Innovation’s CLOUDVTB product exploits private (on premise) and public cloud storage as both a secondary copy for tape-based data and as a device-independent migration facility, and how it enables you to place data in multiple geographically-dispersed locations.
