So, why did we need OPID ?

One day I was sitting under a tree, when an apple fell on my head... Eureka! I cried (mixing up my historical anecdotes) Why should I schedule a successor operation when a job ends, just to do some WAPL action? Why don't I have IWSz start a WAPL started task when the job ends (with the help of EQQUX007 of course)? My friendly IWSz assembler programmer kindly obliged and updated our EQQUX007 exit to use info posted in the operations user field to start a task. My idea was that the task would run WAPL and take action on the WAPL related statements in the user field, but.......
