Introduction to z/OS Connect and APIs

(GC)

Stream: CICS
Time: 15:30 - 16:30

Presentation

Ten years ago IBM started to release z/OS tools based on the Eclipse platform, many of which are now available on the z/OS Explorer Aqua platform.  In the interim time web toolkits have become more powerful and functional and the industry has settled on REST APIs as a protocol to do client server communication.  The z/OS Explorer Atlas project is migrating our tools to have web UI form factors as well as open them up through REST APIs.  This talk will cover the background of the project and show how it's now possible to do z/OS development from a zero-install web product, as well as integrate to jenkins, jira, service now, and custom endpoints that can talk to z/OS
