  • J C Yao is a Principal Product Manager in the IBM Compilation Technology and Enterprise Products group for C/C++, Python, and Node.js offerings. His broad interests include computer engineering applications, numerical modeling and analysis, middleware, software architecture, solution framework, financial evaluation, and software/hardware competitive positioning.  All these disciplines help JC gain an acute insight into the total cost of ownership and IT strategy, whether it is related to a data center, a mainframe application offload, a high-end server consolidation, a “fit-for-purpose” assessment of various solution deployment scenarios, or a broader IT roadmap and strategy consultation. 

    Before the current job, JC was the manager of the IBM HPCS Client Acceleration Team, an IT Economics consultant and strategist, the manager of the IBM IT Economics Team in Asia Pacific, and has worked on engineering design automation, solution architecture, technical strategy, technical support marketing, and business development in the Banking and Financial Services Sector, as well as software marketing and sales enablement programs. 

    JC has a Ph.D. in engineering and was certified by PMI as a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 1999.
