GenAI can be utilized to answer questions on top of data stored in the database. When utilizing GenAI through external APIs this comes with its own challenges as sometimes the database contains sensitive data, which cannot be fed to external APIs.
How do we avoid compromising our sensitive data and utilize the external GenAI APIs, if our application handles sensitive data and the users querying the database can enter sensitive data as part of their queries?
One of the solutions is making the GenAI operate with database schema to generate database queries, instead of making GenAI use the data itself, and also masking the sensitive data.
