The session will cover zHyperWrite, active log datasets bigger than 4 GB, zIIP exploitation, 16 TB buffer pools, zEDC and log compression, dataset open / close performance improvements and the Cast Out Accelerator.

We will cover how to obtain these features, how they work and what benefits can be expected.

His favourite pastime outside work is fell walking in the Lake District: in 2016 he completed a seven year programme of visiting all 214 "Wainwright" summits. Earlier this year he walked the first 60 miles of the Coast to Coast walk, which he plans to continue over the next two years.
