With z/OS, z/VM, Linux and z/TPF being utilized on their mainframes, Marriott provided a nice transition from working as the New Workload Solution Architect East coast team lead at IBM. Before that in person customer facing role, Kurt worked for IBM in Endicott NY at the z/VM development lab. Kurt graduated from Binghamton Universities Thomas J. Watson school of Engineering with a degree in Computer Engineering followed by an Executive MBA from Binghamton’s School of Management. 2019 accomplishments at Marriott include but were not limited to being part of a small team that won MongoDB’s Innovator of the Year Award for the work we did moving shopping traffic from z/TPF to Linux on IBM z Systems and Best Session Award from presenting our effort at SHARE in Phoenix AZ.
