Introducing IBM HyperProtect

(1AS)

Stream: Virtual Room 1
Time: 12:00 - 13:00

Presentation

We live in a world where every time you share information online it is at significant risk of being compromised. Responsibility for protecting that data falls to everyone -- developers, architects and providers. With security at the forefront of everyone's concern, how are organizations meeting these security concerns while still allowing businesses to rapidly provision services to meet business needs on-demand?

This session will cover the technology underpinning IBM HyperProtect offerings powered by IBM Z and how IBM has provided additional layers of security without increasing the complexity for developers and architects. We will introduce each of the technologies and how they can be leveraged to increase assurance and confidence in end user confidentiality.

Agenda
- Docker and Kubernetes introduction

- Introduction to confidential computing
- Explore use cases for Hyper Protect
- Technology introductions

  • During the day I am a Developer Advocate. In this role I get the opportunity to work with customers, business partners and vendors on leading edge technologies and teaching developers how they can use them. I’m constantly challenged to find engaging ways to create technical material that can be used around the world at any time. It is a lot of fun!

When I’m not working, you’ll find me exploring my new home in the UK, expanding my baking skills through new bakes or cake decorating and doing Olympic weightlifting training.

For the past few years, I’ve been creating materials and working with customers to teach them blockchain. Before blockchain I had the privilege of working in the mainframe space with integration technologies. I’ve contributed to 3 IBM Redbooks, blogged for IBM and created various customer workshops. If you look around , you’ll find videos of me talking about these various technologies and my passion for bringing in new talent to work with and learn from. As time has allowed, I worked with campuses in the Dallas area where I used to reside to encourage students to continue their technology related studies and recruited on campus for IBM. I also am a member of American Indian Science and Engineering Society. As a Cherokee, I love getting to network with others from similar backgrounds and volunteer to work with students who are paving the way for their families and keeping the culture alive.
