As the workforce ages, the skill of writing assembler code is becoming a scarce resource. In z/OS 2.4, IBM has addressed this issue by providing several places in which you can replace assembler objects with other , more modern techniques.
This presentation will focus on three of these places:
1. JES2 policies - to replace JES2 exits
2. A new PARMLIB member - IRRPRMxx- to replace ICHRDSNT and ICHRRNG.
3. A new PARMLIB member SMFLIMxx - to replace IEFUSI
There is currently no attachment for z/OS 2.4 exploitation - retiring assembler modifications
