Version 7 of z/VM started the era of a two-year release cadence. z/VM 7.2 is the second release in this era. This presentation will look at what is in the base of z/VM 7.2 as well as all the enhancements that have shipped. We’ll look at both the value of these enhancements, but also cover some of the implementation requirements for them.

In support of IBM's Z Academic Initiative, he teaches the undergraduate mainframe module at Surrey University and also manages and runs "Zeus", the mainframe hub that provides free online IBM Z access for education use to universities across Europe. Malcolm began his mainframe career at IBM in 1985 and has also spent 9 years as Systems Programmer for Oxford University Computing Services where he worked on a number of open source projects. He holds a BA, MA and DPhil in Mathematics from Oxford University. He is a Senior Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Surrey University.
