A mainframe paradox is how to combine familiar tooling used by distributed/windows/linux developers with tried and trusted subsystems like CICS.
This talk covers a number of successful open source projects, including The Open Mainframe Project's Zowe CICS Explorer and CICS Command Line Interface, the COBOL Check project, and RedHat Ansible on z/OS.
As well as covering the capabilities of each with demos, the talk will cover some real world examples of where customers have successfully deployed open source in production, covering issues such as trusting open source content, how to get support and fixes, and the benefits (and drawbacks) of open source from a CICS perspective.
