Stream: Virtual Room 2
Time: 12:00 - 13:00
Abstract:
Distributed applications migrating to the Mainframe is a common trend in many places, and their administration requires a different mindset compared to traditional environments as we’re also facing unique scenarios and problems.
In this presentation, we’ll have a look at some common pitfalls in managing your distributed applications: From planning to important administration actions to take. Luckily, Db2 12 for z/OS also brings additional advantages to our arsenal and we need to revisit how we evolve our DBA practices.
Objectives:
The audience will learn about common best practices on how to plan for distributed applications coming to Mainframe (or existing ones).
The audience will learn about new and important features in Db2 12 for z/OS that will help us in managing distributed applications.
The audience will learn about some of the common nightmares (from meetings to technical measures), and how to prevent or deal with them

He's also the leader of the Latin American Db2 Users Group, the only Mexican IBM Champion since 2018 and a member of several Regional User Groups. He's curious about Data Science and how to combine the Db2 world with new Data Science trends to empower the DBAs.
