Defending your mainframe against hackers, ransomware, and internal threats

(7BF)

Stream: Virtual Room 7
Time: 10:30 - 11:30

Presentation

Despite your best endpoint protection (EP), your firewalls, and your security software, personally identifiable information (PII) can be stolen from the mainframe by hackers and put for sale on the dark web. In addition, ransomware can be installed on your mainframe. On top of that, previously-trusted members of staff can corrupt or steal your data. What can you do to defend your mainframe?

In this session we will look at:

An understanding of the mindset of hackers provides the key to better mainframe security and faster recovery once an attack has been discovered. A look at the cost of inaction in terms of fines, loss of reputation, and job losses may well act as strong motivators to action. And the latest statistics and what we can learn from news stories drives home the message.
