John loaded his first tape onto a 3420 drive in July 1983. A career in IT Infrastructure and Service Management followed, which has seen him work in Europe, Asia and the Americas. IBM Mainframes have been a constant and reassuring presence, either as a direct part of his job or somewhere in the background. John is currently Director of Shared Technology Platforms and Service Delivery at Nationwide Building Society.
