Who doesn't want to be prepared for the future of work? Everyone, right?
There are many considerations when setting up new hires for success: How will they upskill in their environment and what applications will they need to use?
This presentation will be especially important for students and educators who are either starting their own educational journeys or enabling others to discover their individual career paths in the mainframe industry.

Dr Herb Daly is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University ofWolverhampton. A passionate advocate for including System Z knowledge in the university curriculum, he was responsible forhis department joining the IBM Academic Initiative in February 2012. He is currently Chairman of the UKCMG, a user group for performance and capacity professionals. A recent convert to the mainframe cause, his previous roles in industry include Consultant, Software Designer,and Simulation Modelling specialist. He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a Masters degree in Software Engineering and Doctoral degree in Simulation Modelling. His most recently consulting work has been on succession planning and graduate retention.
