Each release of CICS brings a host of new functions that enhance the foundation of the CICS runtime, and CICS TS 6.1 is no exception, with new capabilities around policy task and system rules, resilience, increased capacity, performance, and new API and SPI. This session will explain these new capabilities and highlight the benefit they will bring to your CICS environment.
John Tilling is a Senior Software Engineer and CICS TS Development Lead at the IBM Hursley Laboratory in the United Kingdom. He joined IBM in 1985 having graduated from York University with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. He has 35+ years of experience developing CICS, working on components such as EXCI, file control, CICS-DBCTL, and was responsible for restructuring the CICS-DB2 and CICS-MQ Attachment Facilities to exploit Open Transaction Environment (OTE). He is first point of contact for CICS RFEs and has been a regular speaker at IBM and User Technical Conferences and customer briefings including hosting the CICS Architecture Forum (CAF) in Hursley 2014-17.
