The Grass Is Greener on Both Sides: My journey as a developer using mainframe database (IMS) and open-source Relational/Non-relational database

(OJ)

Stream: Wellington B
Time: 13:45 - 14:45

Presentation

This is my story of being a biomedical engineer and then working as a software developer for more than nine years. To be precise four and half years dedicated using mainframe, four years dedicated to open-source full-stack development, and now working in BMC Software to make life easier for IMS Database Admins. Irrespective of which technology I worked on, the core system was always a mainframe machine. At BMC, I focus more on making life easier for the new generation IMS DBA/Non-IMS DBA to smoothly manage IMS by leveraging modern technologies/web browsers and letting their developers use the full power of the IMS.
