Regardless of where you work, you will hear the term DevOps – an abbreviation for Development and Operations. Some organisations refer to this initiative as ‘modernization’. Historically, Development and Operations areas within all organisation have worked in isolation.
This is especially true for mainframe teams. Research has proven that breaking down these silos and modernizing working practices provide huge technical and commercial advantages. High performing organizations are living proof of these successes. We will discuss some real-world examples.
In this session, Anthony will share key elements of DevOps in terms of technical capabilities, working processes and, most importantly, mindset/culture.

Tony has over 20 years’ experience in IT as an individual contributor, people leader and architect. In 2016, Tony was given a project to bring DevOps to the Mainframe for a Fortune 100 Credit Card Company.
He then spent the next 2 years migrating this companies Mainframe applications, 500+, onto a set of modern DevOps pipelines centered around Compuware tooling.
Tony Lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife and 3 children. In his spare time Tony likes to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, watch Steelers Football and read.
