IBM Service Management Unite (SMU) is a web-based and highly customizable dashboard user interface that visualizes and consolidates information and tasks from your automation, monitoring, network management, and scheduling environment in a single environment.

This session focuses on SMU as a full-featured operational user interface for IBM Z System Automation.

Learn about exciting new features available in Service Management Unite 1.1.9 leveraging the new IBM Z System Automation 4.3 release, such as:

- A new SDF (System Display Facility) dashboard to monitor and react on messages from all z/OS systems in the enterprise leveraging existing SDF definitions and the new Kafka-based SA Info Broker.

- A new dashboard to dynamically create applications that are automated by Z System Automation based on pre-defined templates.

  • Stephen has worked on the IBM Mainframe at Lloyds Banking Group for 29 years, starting in 24x7 OPS in 1993, before moving into the zAutomation team in 2002, specialising in System Automation, NetView and GDPS.

    Stephen is the Product Owner for IBM Mainframe Automation within the Bank, responsible for developing the product strategically and ensuring it is kept current.

  • Matt Roseblade at Sponsor: IBM
  • Matt Roseblade is a member of the IBM Z software technical sales community.  This role brings together all the technical, financial and soft skills acquired in his previous roles in the IT industry. Matt was a member of the IBM IT Economics Practice from 2012 to mid-2019.  In that time, he worked with over 120 clients, looking at ways of helping them reduce their IT costs. In many cases, Matt has steered clients away from expensive decisions and towards cost saving measures.  Although Matt has worked with all platforms, his IT Economics role focused on mainframes, including IBM LinuxONE. Matt has a strong mainframe background with experience as an Operator and as a Automation Analyst.  Matt took a break from mainframes for a decade and worked as a Tivoli Services Consultant, working across Europe delivering IBM Tivoli products across all platforms at over 50 client sites. Outside of work, Matt runs and performs stand-up at local comedy clubs.  Matt’s previous employment experience includes record-shop assistant, door-to-door salesman and shepherd.
