In the life of an application developer, there are many lessons learned how to best interact with Db2 for z/OS that will all influence both application availability and application performance. This session looks at an exemplary set of lessons that were either learned the hard way by breaking existing applications or the easy way by improving existing applications without causing too much collateral damage. Note that this session focuses on traditional application development for mainframe applications using programming languages such as COBOL and is intended for people who would like to understand which techniques are available to develop applications in high availability environments.
