An Introduction to z/OS BCPii – How to control your Z hardware programmatically

(QJ)

Stream: Monza
Time: 13:45 - 14:45

Presentation

The IBM Z platform is complex, but comes with many powerful, interactive controls via the Hardware Management Console (HMC) and Support Element (SE) to be able to control the hardware configuration of your Z infrastructure.   Many times, however, a more automated approach is required to modify the configuration, reboot a hardware partition (LPAR), and much more.   z/OS provides a programmable interface via z/OS BCPii that can make most of the complexities of hardware configuration a whole lot more manageable.   Come to this session to learn about how z/OS BCPii works, what products use it today, what use cases clients are using BCPii for, and how you can leverage its capabilities to automate much of your hardware configuration tasks.
