Users of the IBM Z platform rely heavily on storage appliance data replication for high availability and disaster recovery and for backup/restore for logical protection. This session will discuss and compare the different replication functions that are used and some of the fundamental concepts such as crash consistency, latency, RPO etc. It will also provide examples of typical deployments and the reasons why these have become widely adopted. The speaker will include examples and anecdotes from his experience working with many organisations across the globe and give a perspective both historical and looking to the future of the Z platform.
