We’re working on enabling existing Db2 applications for use by modern applications by using the Db2 for z/OS REST API. We’re taking a bunch of existing Db2 stored procedures, and also writing some new ones, to do this. One of our challenges is that many of the existing SPs were written to support older XML-based services, and we are exploring how to continue to support these while allowing new JSON-based APIs to work.
There is currently no attachment for Re-engineering Db2 Applications Using the REST API
Philip Nelson has worked with Db2 for z/OS since V2.1 and with Db2 (LUW) since the beginning. He is a regular presenter at conferences, particularly IDUG, and likes to exploit new Db2 functionality. After many years as a DBA, he now acts as a consultant to developers on all things Db2-related.
