z/OS BCPii provides a powerful way for z/OS applications to automate and control the operations of Z hardware. BCPii has been enhanced in 2 powerful ways. Come to this exciting presentation to learn about REST-enabled BCPii, a newer BCPii function that : unlocks many IBM Z hardware functions/attributes for BCPii applications immediately; provide an infrastructure for BCPii to instantly have new hardware functions/attributes available when new IBM Z hardware is delivered, and; provides a new, simpler, and more intuitive REST programming model for applications to leverage BCPii functionality.

Steve is a Senior Technical Staff Member working at the IBM Poughkeepsie, NY USA laboratory as a Principal Client Engineering Solution Architect, helping IBM Z clients modernize their workloads and processes,as well as enabling z/OS to be a cloud-centric platform. He is also the creator of the z/OS BCPii and z/OS Client Web Enablement Toolkit z/OS components and still acts as an advocate for both. Steve is a seasoned presenter, and frequently presents at conferences around the world about a wide variety of topics related to z/OS.
