Stream: Virtual Room 10

Presentation

Atlassian Jira software is a popular project management tool used by agile teams to plan, track, and release software.
Mainframe software agile teams can interact with Jira from JCL Jobs that execute on z/OS, and in this presentation, I will talk about exactly how to achieve that.

Slack has gained popularity as a major collaboration platform used across many organizations worldwide.
Mainframe teams can leverage Slack to communicate about the execution completion status of JCL Jobs.
An use-case might include a DevOps Pipeline executing a series of JCL Jobs where it could be useful to post messages to a Slack Channel notifying about either the successful completion of the pipeline execution or failure of a Job which could halt the further execution of the pipeline.
In this presentation, I will be highlighting a series of steps one can follow to successfully send messages to a Slack channel from a JCL Job executing on z/OS.
