Understanding How a CM0 SL1 Input Message Sent to IMS Connect Works

(5M)

Stream: Virtual Room 5
Time: 09:00 - 10:00

Presentation

In this session, I plan to explain what happens when an IMS Connect client sends a CM0 SL1 - ACK input message to IMS Connect and the syncpoint completes successfully. Next, I will explain what happens when an IMS Connect client sends a CM0 SL1 input message to IMS Connect and a client NAK occurs. Finally, I will explain what happens when an IMS Connect client sends an input message to IMS Connect and the input message is NAK’d by OTMA.

  • Subhasish Sarkar at BMC Software Ltd
  • Subhasish has been with BMC Software for over 7 years now. He has been working in the IT industry for 15+ years and all these years, he has been involved with the IBM Z Mainframes. His pre-BMC IT experience was that of a Mainframe Application Developer. His stint at BMC Software started with being a QA for the BMC AMI Transaction Management for IMS group of products and then moving on to the ‘BMC AMI Security’ Team, where he used to handle the generic/traditional QA plus QA automation responsibilities for the ‘BMC AMI Security’ Product suite. He is now working as a Senior Product Manager at BMC Software and is responsible for the BMC AMI Data for IMS portfolio of products/solutions.

Subhasish likes to think of himself as being a technology enthusiast in general and a ‘Mainframer by heart’ in particular. He has been the IBM (Z) Champion for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022 and ongoing). He loves to share knowledge with the technical community – through publishing articles and blogs, conducting webinars on varied (technical and non-technical) topics, speaking at different events/conferences, mentoring people, to name a few. He has got keen interest in Quantum and Particle Physics, Quantum Computing, AI/ML, Mathematics and Electronics. He loves experimenting with and building electronic circuits.

Subhasish is married to a wonderfully supportive wife (who sometimes ends up complaining that ‘Mainframe’ is his first love!). Off work, Subhasish likes spending 3 to 4 hours a week in trying to maintain his nice, little planted fresh-water aquarium (a true ‘Aquarist’ in that sense!). He loves his garden, his plants and devotes a significant amount of time during the weekends nurturing them. He does regular Yoga and walks, jogs and runs for 10 to 12 Kilometers a day. And, last but not the least, he enjoys brushing up his ‘Acting’ skills too (Shhhh! Not to mention that he acts in dramas and theaters too!).
