LPARs, weights and processors. Holding it all together

(8B)

Stream: Virtual Room 8
Time: 10:30 - 11:30

Presentation

A look beneath the covers on how LPAR and processor definitions change and can affect your processing efficiency

The LPAR definition is important to ensure that all systems on the same CEC are getting their fair share of processing resources. But things can and do influence resource sharing and impact processor efficiency. We will look at what information we can get from SMF data and how we can influence processor polarity and observe our changes. The goal is to size correctly for our environment and reduce costs.
