Abstract:
Two strategies for managing data at the enterprise level are gaining increasing traction in the business world: the Data Fabric and the Data Mesh. We think it’s important to understand what these concepts mean, and how they might affect our lives as data professionals. We explore the issues these concepts are intended to address, and how they do so. We examine the principles behind these two strategies together with a very brief history, and explain their strategies for improving businesses' capability to obtain more value from their data.
