(IP)

Stream: Mainframe Skills & Learning
Time: 14:15 - 15:00

Presentation

Description

This session will detail the technology decisions made in delivering the personal CICS capability in IBM ZXPlore.
We will review the core aspects of the design:

• Security: How to enable 10s of CICS regions to run without compromising individual or system-level security
• Performance and Capacity: Exploiting the single-user model to allow multiple concurrent regions
• Functionality: Determining the limits of what should be possible for the user/administrator to safely operate
• Housekeeping: Maintaining hundred of personalised copies of a CICS region creates some resource challenges for storage and network definitions
