The success of your mainframe environment is dependent on the long-term development of talent. To assist in creating the next generation of superstars, this session explores the critical role that a well-designed mentoring program and well-equipped mentors play in motivating, retaining, and upskilling staff. You will be enabled by actionable insights into how mentors and mentees behave, both through enduring evidence and real-life examples, helping you structure effective mentoring programs.
Alex Kingham is an engineering manager with 26 years of experience working with mainframes, first as an engineer and then managing teams of engineers. Currently he's the engineering lead for the Optimization Solution Area within the AIOps value stream, part of Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division.
Daniel Ruutz is a mainframe technical consultant with over 20 years technical, managerial and consulting experience. In addition to modernising mainframe systems and advising mainframe leadership, he has taught People Management to MBA students at the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne.
