Stream: WAVEZ 102
Time: 16:30 - 17:15
This session will go into detail on an architecture and methodology that will bring to the mainframes the same technologies available on other platforms for maintenance deployment, reporting, and integrity. The speaker will discuss the use of message digests with sufficient significance as to avoid digest collisions as well as cover the methods to ensure and detect when changes (desirable or undesirable) are made to system executable programs so that identification, detection, and response scenarios can be deployed and/or reported.
This session will not cover specific products, specific implementations, or specific controls; but will instead ensure that the audience members understands the reasons and rationale behind the requirement to be current in today’s ever-changing world while recognizing the complexities of ensuring and validating that the patches applied are the patches that were delivered into your complex maintenance environment. A proposed architecture of a methodology to achieve this will be discussed.
