This presentation is based on Db2 z/OS development 360 studies experiences performed by SWAT team, which Michal is part of.
It will discuss following matters, which will give you the power of identifying your organization’s bottleneck resources:
- How to evaluate capacity for Db2 z/OS?
- What is your saturation points for CPUs / zIIPs busy, and when you shall start to worry and how you can act.
- How to calculate enough real memory to protect your Db2s, including multi member Db2s on same LPAR, for worst case scenario conditions.
- When "too little" may start to hit you or have dramatic consequences.
- How to monitor those measures on continuous basis
Michal Bialecki is a member of the DB2 z/OS Development SWAT team where he supports and advocates for customers across various industries and geographies. Prior this time he worked as system / application DBA as customer, and the last 18 years, Michal worked for the Db2 for z/OS organization in support & development at IBM Silicon Valley Lab (SVL).
