How to design and implement infrastructure and automation to deliver a cloud provider experience on LinuxONE and zSystesm.

In this session, you can learn about how to use LinuxONE and zSystems architecture to implement a cloud native infrastructure using KVM virtualization, IBM Cloud Infrastructure Center, Spectrum Scale, RedHat Openshift and Instana monitoring.
We will share our company's journey to the cloud with the focus of using IBM Z architecture with the same tools/approaches we also use with public cloud, a full GitOps approach using products like Packer, Terraform, Ansible to follow the paradigm of everything as code. We aim to provide enterprise grade cloud services using the special capabilities of IBM Z architecture, such as confidential computing, encryption, AI acceleration, and flexibility.

Carla Raffi at Sogei

Dr. Carla Raffi is an IT professional with more than 30 years’ experience in the IT business. Her job is to project and deploy cloud solutions based on accurate analysis and researches, integrating in the most valuable and efficient way the best products available on the market, and obtain the best results for my company and our clients. From 2008 til 2020, she has been heading the System and Application Monitoring team at Sogei S.p.A., a large IT Company owned by the Italian Department of Economy and Finance, aimed to provide IT services within the government sector. Carla joined the Company in 1991 and since then she served in a variety of technical and supervision roles, so developing a strong interest in the monitoring technologies. Part of her current job involves the design and the deployment of cloud adoption architectures for the complex environment of Sogei. This task is based on accurate analysis and research, in order to select the products that best fit to the customers' needs . She is also involved in the adoption of OpenTelemetry standard and is actually focused on the interaction between this standard and the vendor based monitoring tools.
