Paul started his mainframe career in 1986 as a broker, breaking up and selling 3090's, their features and peripherals, swinging from stairwells on bus and tag cables to make them stretch and buying 3745's for their gold! A 6-month backpacking tour to Australia turned into a 20-year sojourn working for Computer Merchants, ISI and IBM Australia selling mainframes across ANZ and Asia Pacific. Returning to the UK in the early 2000s Paul continued his mainframe career working for Vanguard Integrity Professionals as Global Channels Manager, IBM UK specialising in LinuxONE and now TES Enterprise Solutions, a provider of IaaS using Phoenix Systems kvant Cloud Platform owning three IBM LinuxONEs.
Florian Nöll is the CEO of Phoenix Systems, a Swiss-based sovereign cloud provider that offers a secure and scalable cloud platform. Recently Phoenix partnered with IBM to bring IBM Vela & watsonx to Switzerland for Sovereign AI use cases including the deployment of several LinuxONE Emperor 4 for Confidential Computing capabilities.
With over 12 years of experience in hardware, software, and services, he is a visionary leader and a domain expert in hyperscaler cloud technologies.
Florian Nöll started his career as a web developer and then joined IBM as an account executive, where he rose to the regional director position for IBM Z and LinuxONE in DACH.
He then moved to MongoDB as an enterprise account executive, where he strategically developed the Switzerland region and secured key accounts across various industries.
In his current role, he leads a team of talented people who are passionate about reimagining the cloud together.
Florian Nöll holds a master's degree in computer science from TU Darmstadt and is certified in various Cloud technologies and products. He is fluent in German and English. He is married and has two sons.
