(9R)

Stream: Virtual Room 9
Time: 16:30 - 17:30

Presentation

Grab your pocket protectors and prepare to laugh till you drop as Henri and Lionel take the stage to demystify the wild world of mainframe development with ZIGI, the ISPF Git Interface. In this uproarious session, expect more laughs than lines of code as we navigate the treacherous terrain of Git within ISPF. From epic merge conflicts to commit messages that read like Shakespearean sonnets (or at least attempt to), this session promises to be a rollercoaster ride of ISPF and GIT coolness. Whether you're a seasoned developer or a newbie in the tech scene, join us for an unforgettable experience that maybe, just maybe, leave you a little bit wiser about the wonders of mainframe development with ZIGI.

  • Lionel B Dyck at Trident Services Inc
  • I have wotked in the industry since 1972 starting as a JCL Clerk. Over the years I've been a systems programmer and now a developer all while contributing to the mainframe open-source ecosystem via the https://cbttape.org and https://github.com/lbdyck sites. I selected the job title of Software Artist as that is what all developers are - our brush is the keyboard/mouse and our paint are the instructions and languages that we use. This year I have the honor for the 2nd year in a row of being an IBM System Z Champion as well.

  • Henri Kuiper at zDevOps
  • Henri Kuiper is a pre Y2K Mainframe junkie. Started taking apart computers at a very young age (BBC Micro's Anyone?) and never stopped his love for 'taking things apart' (and mostly putting them back together too). He's Technical Coordinator for the Dutch region of Guide Share Europe, IBM Champion for z Systems, owner of zDevOps.com and proud co-founder of Mainframe Society.
