This session will provide an update on the DS8000 storage system including new functionality delivered in 2025. We will review the new functionality provided in the 10th Generation DS8000 released in 2024 and provide insights based on user experience with the DS8000 over the last year. This will include information on zHyperlink, FlashCore Module Compression and other topics.

Nick is a STSM in the IBM Systems Division focussing on Enterprise Storage and storage integration with IBM server platforms. He also works with a number of clients on their storage strategy and advising them on their deployment of IBM storage technology. He is the author of several whitepapers and redbooks in the area of enterprise storage and resilience solutions. He is regarded as one of the world experts in IBM storage technology and holds a number of patents in these areas. Nick graduated from Trinity College Cambridge in 1994 with a degree in Mathematics and has previously worked both outside IBM and in the IBM services organisation in the areas of parallel sysplex, performance and enterprise storage.
