Integration is essential to the success of a Hybrid Cloud strategy. Technologies like APIs and Event Streams (Kafka) mean that providing ubiquitous and consumable access to business assets is now a reality. The agility, innovation and reduced time to value this drives is instrumental in allowing companies to adapt and react to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world. For the largest enterprises in the world, that run their core businesses on z/OS, there is almost boundless value that can be derived from providing modern consumable access to assets on the platform. Come to this session to learn about the approach, architecture and technology that IBM provides to enable API and Event (Kafka) based integration of core applications and data in CICS, IMS, Db2 and MQ.

Anthony Papageorgiou is the Technical Strategy Lead for Integration on IBM Z working at IBM Hursley UK. Anthony holds a first class bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Warwick. His areas of expertise include APIs, Mobile, Cloud and Event Processing technologies, and their implementation within large enterprise systems. He is also experienced with applying Agile, Design Thinking, DevOps and Continuous Delivery methodologies to large software development projects. Since joining IBM in 2007 he has performed roles across Test, Development, Architecture, Management and Strategy for a number of IBM Z software products. Most recently he has been leading the zOS Connect Enterprise Edition team to unleash the power of IBM Z across a hybrid IT landscape through the use of APIs. In his current role, Anthony is working across the IBM Z Software Portfolio to define the overall technical strategy for integration on the IBM Z platform
Louisa’s an experienced professional within IBM with 10 years’ spanning diverse roles across consulting, software development and acquisitions. In addition, Louisa has just finished a Degree Apprenticeship to support her role in business leadership. Louisa is the chairperson of the open-source project Galasa within the Linux Foundation which included taking this project to adoption, in addition, she’s also a product management role overseeing a portfolio within IBM Z.
