Productive mainframe delivery using open source – a practical demonstration

(ND)

Stream: Open Mainframe Project
Time: 14:30 - 15:15

Presentation

The future of mainframe delivery promises to be a highly productive, automated, integrated, feature-rich utopia. Yet many mainframe teams are stuck with out of date tools, high vendor costs, and disappointing release velocity. What’s the right way to fast-track the improvements needed to a faster way of building apps? Good question! Using a process and toolchain that powers our own development labs, the PopUp Mainframe team will take you step by step through our development pipeline, touching on elements of the mainframe toolchain that are a combination of industry leading and open source options – including Git, VS Code, COBOL Check, Galasa, and more – offering a practical, real-world example of rapid mainframe delivery. This session is for the practitioners looking for a no smoke, no mirrors explanation of how to deliver faster on the mainframe. [Note - AppDev or Open Mainframe Project]
