Stream: Service Management
Time: 14:15 - 15:00
Business success depends on managing complex applications that can span mobile, cloud, and on-prem environments. Yet most enterprise-wide observability solutions provide little to no visibility into z/OS resources. Even the best operations teams sometimes cannot identify application performance problems until end users are impacted, leading to reactive "war rooms" to isolate incidents and delayed resolution. In this session we introduce the topic of enterprise observability, including the concept of OpenTelemetry, and show why a complete end-to-end view of hybrid applications, including z/OS, is essential today for everyone in the enterprise from business operations to development to operations. From the basics through to practical examples, we will demonstrate how observability is foundational to drive operational resilience.
