This session will demonstrate how to use watsonx Assistant for Z with integrated AIOps skills to provide operational insights on IBM Z through an AI conversation using data from Z System Automation, OMEGAMON, and IBM Z Workload Scheduler. We will also discuss new features for working with enterprise chat tools like MS Teams or Slack, leveraging new alerting capabilities, and genAI based explanations.

Wolfgang Schaeberle is a Senior Product Manager at IBM, specializing in the IBM Z AIOps portfolio. He leads product management for IBM Z Workload Scheduler and IBM Z Service Automation Suite, and drives innovation in mainframe operations through the integration of generative AI, agentic AI, ChatOps, and modern web-based user interfaces.
With a strong foundation in systems management, Wolfgang has held key technical leadership roles within IBM Z Automation, contributing across disciplines such as automated operations, business resilience, and performance management. His expertise also spans user experience design and application development, enabling him to bridge technical depth with user-centric product strategy.
Domenico D’Alterio is the IBM Principal Product Manager focused on The Linux Foundation's ZoweTM and IBM Z distribution for Zowe projects. He contributes to the open-source project strategy and direction as well as market success of IBM Z distribution for Zowe. Prior to his current role, Domenico was the Product Manager for offerings in the IBM Z AIOps area working on the strategic directions of multiple offerings. In the previous years, he covered different managerial positions in IBM Development and Customer support organization as well as the role of Product Manager of Z Analytics products, Domenico joined IBM in 1999. Starting as designer, moved to a managerial role in 2006, acting as Development and Customer Support manager in the former Tivoli division of IBM. He graduated in Electronic Engineering, in Italy.
Sowmya Kameswaran works at the IBM Silicon Valley Labs in San Jose California and leads the Transformation of User Experience for Db2 for z/OS platform and ecosystem. Understanding the way users interact with the system and building solutions and interfaces to provide the best user experience is what she enjoys to do. Being hands-on into software development helps her go end to end from understanding the kind of experience customers need to getting it built.
