In IBM's Workload Automation Programming Language (WAPL), the SETVAR directive enables the creation of temporary variables through various methods, such as arithmetic expressions, substrings, or concatenation. These variables can be utilized within the job for dynamic processing.
WAPL allows sophisticated data manipulation and decision-making processes within jobs, extending beyond the capabilities of traditional JCL directives.
Adrian joined the IBM Software Migration Project Office (SMPO) team in 2022, where he specialize in delivering migration services from competitive scheduling tools to IBM Z Workload Scheduler. Prior to this role, he worked as a z/OS System Programmer with a focus on workload scheduling.
