In this session IBM subject matter experts, Ian Mitchell and Dennis Behm, will share their experience from the field and summarise the recommendations to facilitate mainframe teams to adopt Git.
Attendees will learn how to demystify the outcome compared to existing practices, and show examples of the model in action.

  • Ian Mitchell at IBM UK LTD.
  • Ian J Mitchell is an IBM Distinguished Engineer with responsibility for Transactional Middleware and Blockchain. He has many years of mainframe experience having been responsible for the technical architecture of the CICS Product Portfolio. He has 28 years experience as a technical leader in IBM Hursley and has been in the forefront of creating and introducing many of CICS' important innovations including Workload Management, Sysplex Support, Business Transaction Services, Java, Web Services, Event Processing and the CICS Explorer. In this role Ian has worked with many of the technical leaders across all the mainframe technology components. Ian also has close relationships with many of IBM's largest customers running critical systems using CICS and the mainframe. Since 2015 he has also been leading the architecture for Blockchain on Z Systems.

  • Dennis Behm at IBM Europe
  • Dennis is the team lead of IBMs DevOps Acceleration Team and is working with clients on their DevOps transformation to standardize and automate the processes, tools, and methodologies for traditional mainframe application architectures. He is working on the mainframe platform for more than 15 years.
