Some aspects of Db2 for z/OS Buffer Pool and Group Buffer Pool technology are plain as day; others, less so. Questions we get from Db2 users worldwide have highlighted for us things that a lot of folks - even very experienced Db2 people - get wrong. In this session we'll try to bring clarity to oft-misunderstood areas of Db2 for z/OS Buffer Pool and Group Buffer Pool technology.
Anna McKee is a Technical Enablement Specialist in the IBM Z Ecosystem Infrastructure, where she manages and supports all Db2 for z/OS subsystems. She works with hundreds of independent software vendors to deliver the latest SMPE maintenance, perform Db2 installations and configurations, enable Db2 data sharing, support z/OS migrations, and provide expert consultation. Additionally, Anna contributes to the Worldwide Systems Center Db2 team by delivering Db2 13 Technology Workshops and assisting with IBM Z Health Checks, helping clients optimize availability and performance in their z/OS environments.
Mark Rader is a Db2 for z/OS specialist in the IBM Z Worldwide Systems Center. Mark has applied his Db2 for z/OS experience with clients across a wide variety of projects. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and regional Db2 for z/OS user group meetings. He works closely with Db2 for z/OS development in rolling out new Db2 versions to clients. He is an author of Redbooks on Parallel Sysplex application considerations, Db2 data sharing, Db2 for z/OS distributed function, and Db2 13 for z/OS.
