As enterprises increasingly rely on artificial intelligence and machine learning for real-time insights, the mainframe is re-emerging as a powerful platform for AI/ML workloads. Modern mainframes combine high-performance compute, massive I/O throughput, and industry-leading security with integrated AI acceleration and support for open frameworks such as Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. By running AI/ML directly on the mainframe—close to mission-critical transactional data—organizations can eliminate data movement, reduce latency, and enable real-time inference on core business processes. This approach is particularly valuable in sectors such as banking, insurance, and government where data integrity, scalability, and compliance are paramount. In today’s data-driven landscape, integrating AI/ML with mainframe environments allows enterprises to modernize analytics while leveraging the reliability and resilience of their existing infrastructure.
I have diverse experience in application development within the banking and telecom sectors, along with a strong background in Quality Assurance Engineering for product development in the IMS area. With a Master’s degree in Data Science and Management, I combine technical expertise with business acumen to deliver innovative solutions. I have a keen eye for identifying gaps between technology and business aspects, enabling me to optimize solutions and drive efficiency across industries.
Vaidehi is an Associate Product Developer at BMC Software, where she works in AI/ML integration with mainframe and IMS environments. She completed her B.Tech in Computer Science in 2025 and joined BMC as a full-time developer after two internship stints with the company starting in 2024. Her work sits at the intersection of modern AI capabilities and enterprise mainframe systems - exploring how technologies like agentic AI and large language models can enhance traditional mainframe workflows. She is passionate about exploring emerging AI concepts while building a strong foundation in mainframe technologies.
