As organizations accelerate cloud adoption, migrating mission-critical databases has become one of the most complex and risk-sensitive steps in modernization. Even brief downtime during migration can disrupt operations, create data inconsistencies, and compromise business continuity. Traditional migration approaches often rely on manual planning, static scheduling, and heavy operational oversight, which can lead to unpredictable performance and extended cutover windows. This session introduces the AI-Assisted Migration Planning Framework (AIMPF), an adaptive approach designed to support failure-resilient, near zero-downtime cloud database migrations. AIMPF combines machine learning, reinforcement learning, and dependency graph analysis to evaluate migration risks, optimize scheduling, and dynamically coordinate migration workflows. The framework continuously evaluates operational metrics such as schema complexity, replication lag, transaction latency, and network throughput to detect potential bottlenecks and adjust migration strategies in real time. The architecture consists of three layers: a Data Analysis and Learning Layer for predictive modeling, a Strategy Generation Layer for policy-driven scheduling decisions, and an Execution and Feedback Layer that enables continuous optimization and recovery control. AIMPF integrates with existing enterprise platforms, including AWS Database Migration Service, Azure Database Migration Service, and Kubernetes-based orchestration environments, allowing organizations to introduce AI-driven automation without disrupting established workflows.
