The GS UK Conference is an annual four-day event held each November, typically in the Midlands or virtually earlier in the year. It is organised by the GS UK Conference Committee, a team of dedicated volunteers.
The conference features:
Most streams are aligned with regular focus groups and are curated by their respective committees. Additional streams and workshops—unaffiliated with focus groups—are managed by the central conference committee, which also oversees the full agenda.
To shape the next year’s agenda, the committee incorporates:
The event offers over 200 hours of technical training, delivered by IBM, other vendors, and GS-UK members. In-person conferences also provide ample opportunities for networking during breaks, evening receptions, and dinners.
A highlight of the in-person event is the conference exhibition, featuring solution providers relevant to the GS-UK community. Revenue from this exhibition and sponsorships enables GS UK to:
GS UK also partners with educational institutions to address the growing skills gap in the z/OS industry. Students attend for free, and a dedicated stream supports those new to the platform.
We have introduced a points system for speakers to simplify the registration process. For each session presented by the primary speaker, they will be awarded 100 points. No speaker points will be awarded for supporting speakers. On reaching 100 points, the conference fees for one day will be waived. On reaching 200 points, the conference fees for all days will be waived. This applies to conference fees only and does not include evening meals or hotel accommodation.
The basic conference fees for the In-Person Conference are as follows:-
Delegates from GS-UK member companies (see below) £250 per day
Delegates from other non-member companies £310 per day
There is a 20% discount to these rates for registrations made during the early bird period (up to and including October 1st).
Evening meals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are NOT included in the above prices. If you wish to attend one of the dinners, they can be selected during registration and included in the final charge. They can also be selected or modified in My GS-UK
Each GS UK member company is entitled to send up to 5 delegates and up to two bona fide trainees FREE OF CHARGE, provided they register during the early bird period. Additional delegates will be charged at the prevailing member rate. Voucher codes are issued to each member company for this purpose. Evening dinners are not included with the company membership vouchers.
After the end of the early bird period, the vouchers provided for company membership will incur a 50% charge. However, vouchers purchased as a conference package, those provided for students and those provided to vendors participating in the exhibition, can still be used until the conference.
Changes or cancellations to your registration can be made at any time.
